Terms of Service

1. The Service

Treecams ingests photos from trail/game cameras you own or are authorized to use, runs automated AI species detection, and delivers alerts and galleries. Features and limits may change over time.

2. Eligibility & accounts

You must be at least 18 (or the age of majority where you live) and provide accurate information. You're responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your sign-in secure.

3. Connecting third-party cameras (Tactacam/Reveal)

If you connect a Reveal/Tactacam (or similar) account, you represent and warrant that the account is yours or that you are authorized to access it, and you authorize Treecams to access it on your behalf to retrieve your photos. You are solely responsible for complying with the terms of service of any third-party camera platform you connect, including any rules about account access or credential sharing. Treecams is an independent service and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Tactacam, Reveal, or any camera manufacturer. You agree to indemnify Treecams for claims arising from your connection of a third-party account.

4. Acceptable use

• Use the Service only for lawful purposes.
• Only upload or connect cameras and content you own or are authorized to use. You are responsible for the placement and operation of your cameras, including any laws on surveillance, recording, and the privacy of people who may appear in your images.
• Don't misuse, overload, reverse-engineer, or attempt to breach the Service.
• Don't resell or redistribute the Service without our written permission.

5. Your content

You retain ownership of your photos and content. You grant Treecams a limited license to host, store, process, and analyze your content solely to operate and improve the Service for you. You're responsible for your content and for having the rights to it.

6. Plans & payment

The Service currently offers free and paid tiers. Paid subscriptions, pricing, and billing terms (including any third-party payment processor terms) will be presented at checkout when paid plans become available, and this section will be updated accordingly. Taxes may apply.

7. No warranty — not a safety system

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind. Alerts and detections are automated and may be delayed, inaccurate, incomplete, or fail to send for reasons outside our control (cellular coverage, third-party outages, AI error, etc.). The Service is not a security, life-safety, or emergency system; do not rely on it for any situation where a missed or wrong alert could cause harm.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Treecams will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or USD $100.

9. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violation of these Terms or to protect the Service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (ownership, disclaimers, liability, indemnity) will survive.

10. Governing law & changes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. We may update these Terms; material changes are reflected by the “Last updated” date above, and continued use means you accept them. Questions? codyohlsen@gmail.com.
